After learning how to live on our owns for a week in Jogja, it was time to return and visit family from my mother’s side and her place of upbringing on the East side of Java island. Now East Java has a stark contrast compared to the West and Central parts of the island. It is much more rural and filled with greenery all around. Banana trees and rice fields fill it’s land with a mountain scape surrounding major cities. With this being said, it is a very traditional part of Indonesia and conservative in most parts. There is so much beauty in all the places that we go to, because of it’s uniqueness and identity. Sunrise on top of Mount Bromo with family is definitely up on the list.
